Overview
The problem: Many of my colleagues faced challenges in quickly mastering new software tools like Canva, critical for producing visually engaging content on a tight timeline. Some team members were not familiar with digital design platforms, and language barriers added to the learning curve, impacting their confidence and efficiency in content creation.
The solution: To address this, I designed two targeted software simulations for foundational and intermediate Canva skills. These interactive modules guide users through a step-by-step process of essential Canva tasks, building skills through hands-on practice. Each module ends with a self-assessment slider, enabling learners to rate their confidence in their new skills. Based on their responses, they are encouraged to either continue practicing or advance to the next level. After completing both modules, learners apply their skills to a real Canva project, reinforcing practical application.
Results and Reflection
While results for this learning solution are still being gathered, potential metrics for measuring impact include:

User Feedback: Collecting qualitative insights from learners to assess their confidence and proficiency with Canva post-simulation.

Confidence Tracking: Learners can re-take the practice if they rate their confidence below a set threshold, allowing for comparison of their confidence ratings before and after additional practice.

This simulation is designed to streamline the learning process, enabling colleagues to quickly gain proficiency in Canva, improve their design capabilities, and save time. Future simulations will build on this foundation to further enhance skills based on feedback and observed outcomes from this initial training experience.
